CMG’s Clark Davis, FAIA, LEED AP and Betsy del Monte, FAIA, LEED BD+C, were speakers at the 2024 American Institute of Architects (AIA) Conference on Architecture & Design in Washington, D.C. Their session, titled “How a Design Firm Grows Up: Evolution in Structure & Governance,” delved into the internal dynamics of design firms.
Davis and del Monte’s session focuses on the evolution of firm structure, leadership, and governance, drawing on their experiences as practice leaders and advisors. The session addressed specific audience interests and included valuable case studies on evolving organizational, leadership, and governance practices in successful architecture firms.
“It was gratifying to speak to about 200 attendees on this popular topic alongside my colleague Betsy del Monte,” said Davis. “All successful firms face common growing pains and generational changes. We aimed to help participants learn how to prepare their firms for future growth and success.”
