Results from CMG’s New Realities Survey on AEC Employee Perspectives Toward Reopening is Featured in Architecture Magazine

Transitioning from home back to the officePosted on the Architecture magazine website on December 13 are the results from Cameron MacAllister Group’s (CMG’s) August 2021 New Realities survey of AEC workers’ feelings toward remote and hybrid work.

In the summer of 2021, a significant proportion of the AEC industry was in the process of transitioning from the working arrangements in place since March 2020 to a new normal. To explore these issues, CMG designed a 24-question survey that was sent to a cross-section of the firm’s architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) clients with a request that they ask all of their employees to respond. Nearly 50 firms from across the country participated, yielding 1,335 completed responses. The study revealed disconnects between employers and employees regarding this transition.

Early in 2020, at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, CMG launched a series of brief surveys addressing these “New Realities” in the design and construction industry. This latest report is the seventh in the series.
